The year 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Winona Municipal Band, the longest continuously performing band west of the Mississippi! We are planning an exciting summer season of unique concerts to celebrate this amazing history. Special events, a guest soloist, band section features, historical information, special music, ice cream social, picnic, fireworks, and more are all being organized. There may even be a few surprises! We need community support for this event and we invite you to be a Section Sponsor for $250 or a Donor for any amount you choose. You can choose to honor a past or current band member or director with your donation. All donors will be recognized in our concert programs and on the Sponsors page of this website. This is your opportunity to show your appreciation and to participate in a very special way. The celebration runs through August 2015, and funds received in excess of expenses will be used for band music, equipment, and improvements. Donations in any amount are greatly appreciated. | Donations of $100 or more will be processed through the City of Winona and are tax-deductible. The City of Winona is a political subdivision of the State of Minnesota and qualifies as an organization that can receive tax deductible charitable contributions under IRS Section 170. | |
