Ashley Hall, Guest Trumpet Soloist
Ashley Hall has been applauded by critics for her “soaring and spine-tingling” performances and her “excellent stage presence.” Her extensive performance credentials as a soloist and orchestral musician have taken her around the world. From the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., to the Opera House in Sydney, Australia, she has dazzled audiences with her virtuosic technique and expressive tone, being described as “pure magic to hear.”
Mrs. Hall holds the position of principal trumpet with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, with which she recently performed the US premier of Markus Stockhausen’s "Miniature of a Soul’s Journey."
She also held the position of third trumpet with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra from 2003-2012, and has performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony Orchestra, and Sinfonia Gulf Coast.
Her work as a soloist and recitalist has taken her around the globe including performances in South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Mexico and China. Her 2013 solo highlights included solo recitals in Virginia, South Dakota, and Minnesota as well as solo appearances with the Sheldon Theatre Brass Band. She was also recently featured in recital at the 2014 International Trumpet Guild Conference.
In the fall of 2007, Mrs. Hall released her debut album entitled, "Behold Him", a collection of hymns for solo trumpet. As a worship artist she has given ministry concerts worldwide. Mrs. Hall has also recorded two CD’s with EUROBRASS, “Give Thanks to the Lord”, and “Worthy is the Lord.”
Mrs. Hall’s passion for making music is paralleled by a dedication and commitment to teaching and arts advocacy. She maintains an active private trumpet studio at her home in Rochester, MN, and has been on the faculty at the Lutheran Summer Music Festival since the summer of 2012. She has held teaching positions at St. Olaf College and the University of Dayton and was active in educational outreach through the Muse Machine and the Dayton Philharmonic’s SPARK program. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Rochester Symphony Orchestra.
Mrs. Hall holds a bachelor’s degree in trumpet performance from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music and an artist diploma from the Longy School of Music.
